Families
Being close to Aviemore, and centrally located in the Cairngorms National Park, and having a unique combination of rooms, Abernethy Bunkhouses provide an ideal location for family groups to get away and have fun under one roof.
With no more babysitting worries the central position allows easy access to a wide variety of child orientated activities.
With 17 bedrooms, some of which are on the ground floor and all having their own basin, Nethy House is ideal for family reunions. the bar can be set up downstairs meaning that there are no babysitting problems.
There is a 'flat' downstairs suitable for the small baby or granny who may want either a bit more space or just a bit of privacy.
Nethy Station is a bit more simple - and the two main rooms sleep 9 in triple bunks. There is a two person room off the main corridor, two rooms in Narnia and, don't forget 'The Shed'!
The dining room and small kitchen are ample for a few families to sit together and the 2 domestic cookers give you 8 rings and two ovens for flexibility.
We work closely with Craggan Outdoors - a multi-activity about 3 miles away.
They can plan activities for you group according to your needs.
Wedding Parties
A number of couples have used Abernethy Bunkhouses-Nethy House as a base for their wedding celebrations. Big enough to accommodate a large number of people, with Bed & Breakfast or hotel accommodation (for those who wants something more luxurious) close by!
Everyone can gather together and there is plenty of flexibility with the 17 carpeted bedrooms, all with their own basin, allowing Granny privacy, the bride and groom the seclusion of their own 'flat' and families to be together in their own room.
Babies
I am afraid that though happy to see children at our hostels there are no special facilities. You are welcome to bring you own travel cot.
What can we do?
There are lots of ideas for things to do here and also we mention places where you may be able to eat out all together at a very reasonable rate if you get in touch with the restaurant early enough!
