Important Information

Please ensure that you take note of all the information in the pages that lead off this one. Some information should be passed onto all the members of your group and some ought to be accessed by the leaders before and during your stay.
Having this in advance will add to the group's enjoyment and safety during their stay in Nethy Bridge.
You can view the details of your booking at any time on our calendar including the number in the party and note times of arrival and departure.

Urgent messages may be left at the office, which is not on the premises so there may be some delay.

Arrival & Departure Times

We ask that groups do not arrive before 4pm. This will give us time to check the house and try to get any maintenance done before your arrival.
Departure time is 10am.
However, please do get in touch if you want these times changed - it may well be possible.
25% of bed rate may be charged for early or late departures.

Linen

We have a duvet and pillow on each bed.
1 We encourage our groups to bring their own duvet cover, sheet, pillowcase and towels. This is not only going to save you money, but is also greener because it reduces the need for deliveries and heavy duty linen cleaning.
2 If you bring sleeping bags, you will need to bring a pillowcase and towels
3 You can hire a full pack of linen from a laundry in Inverness, but please note this must be ordered at least 3 weeks in advance to allow for delivery and at £5 per pack it works out expensive for short stays.

Heating

Cooking, hot water and lighting costs are included in your bed price. Please remember that we only add the heating charge to your contract for bookings between the start of October & end of April. From May to September there will be a small charge if you wish to have the heating on and we would deal with that payment at the time. (Approx £1 per person, per day)
As a Green business, we would encourage sweaters and warm clothes to be worn in cooler weather, and the doors and windows closed, before a request for heating is made. As Sir Ranulph Fiennes once said "There is no such thing as bad weather, only inappropriate clothing."

Water

In 2010 we had all our boilers replaced with the modern equivalent of the old ones. Unfortunately new regulations on the same type and size of boiler has resulted in an occasional shortfall if a very large group is in residence.
Showers - The water becomes cold slowly and so we are told it gives plenty of time for people to finish their shower! It then needs a short while to reheat. No one has yet had cause to complain but we do like to point it out.
Kitchen - So please use hot water sensibly. We tend to fill the large, insulated right hand sink and use that for rinsing, keeping the washing up bowl for a final wash in hot water. This reduces the impact on the planet, and, closer to home, allows more water for the showers!

Recycling

Flatten rubbish, please!

As a Green Tourism business we are trying to do what we can and so would ask our groups to help by being aware of environmental issues.
Paper: can be taken to the paper bin behind the Community Centre only 200 yards away.
One bin* is for cans, bottles & plastics: Yellow recycling trugs can be used for collecting cans, bottles & plastics for recycling indoors, making it easier to transfer them to the large green bin outside.
The other bin* is for all other rubbish including food waste as unfortunately as a self-catering property we are unable to manage a compost heap.
To reduce the impact and numbers of rubbish collections we ask our customers to ensure that all rubbish is flattened fully, including plastic bottles.
The bins are collected, on demand, on a Thursday. If the rubbish is not flattened additional uplift may be required, at a cost to the group, creating unnecessary waste of fuel and manpower.
*The pre-arrival email will tell you which bin is which as they are occasionally replaced with different colours!
